The Summer is Here...
IMPORTANT! As always, we wanted to let you how much we appreciate your business and hope that you and your families are having an enjoyable and safe summer.
Unfortunately, at this time of year we can be threatened with severe storms and winds in almost all parts of the country. As we know, some of these storms are more severe than others and can affect mobile offices and site trailers in different ways.
We would suggest that at this time, you might want to check to make sure your units are properly tied down (anchored) according to the local code requirements in your area. While there is no guarantee, proper anchoring of the trailer can prevent unnecessary rollovers on windy days. If your unit is not anchored properly, you can arrange to have your existing Acton units tied down (for an additional fee) by calling your Acton branch at 800-251-1600 as soon as possible.
We also wanted to remind you that in accordance with our lease agreement, while you have an Acton trailer(s) on lease, you, as the client, are responsible for the full amount of the trailer replacement value if the trailer is destroyed or for any damages that might occur, regardless of your arrangement with your insurance carrier. We will do everything possible to assist you with your insurance claims but we will look to you for prompt (30-60 days) reimbursement for any damaged or destroyed trailer.
While we continue to try and provide you with the highest level of client satisfaction, we know you understand our position in trying to protect our assets
Thank you for your assistance and your business.

Acton Mobile Industries Responds to Tennessee Flood Disaster
Opryland Hotel — Nashville, Tenn.
Known around the world for its entertainment and luxurious building, the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, located on the flagship property of Gaylord Opryland, is Nashville, Tennessee’s largest and most prestigious hotel. When the hotel was severely damaged by the severe flooding of the Cumberland River in May of 2010 and they had to evacuate 1,500 guests from their building, Gaylord required temporary office space to keep their business running during the assessment, repair and re-building process. The Hotel needed a fast solution that would provide a secure office environment for their employees. Acton Mobile Industries, together with a local general contractor, answered the call and supplied 10 double-wide and five single trailers within a 12-day timeframe. Acton and the contractor worked day and night to ensure that the employees had secure, clean and dry facilities in which to work.
According to Mike Haley, Branch Manager for Acton Mobile Industries in Nashville, the wide-spread damage to the area left everyone’s resources spread thin. Acton Mobile was determined to help their community.
“Everyone is pitching in to help everyone they can,” said Haley. “This devastation hits home for the Acton Mobile employees, and we are working our best to try and take care of the Gaylord Opryland staff and our other customer’s needs.” Acton’s Nashville Branch is located in Smyrna, TN.

Weeks Marine — Norfolk, Va.
Starting out as a two crane stevedoring company, Weeks Marine, Inc., one of the leading marine construction and dredging organizations in the United States, has expanded into six divisions and now operates more than 500 cranes, tugs, dredges, barges and other pieces of waterborne equipment. When Weeks Marine needed to provide office space where little was available, they sought a quick and non-traditional solution. Not only was office space needed for this family-owned company, but the solution had to fit onto an offshore rig with little room to spare. Together with the client, Acton Mobile developed a rare solution for the tight space. The unit was first situated on a nearby waterfront lot, where a 30-ton steel frame was welded to the underside of the 24-foot by 40-foot, double-wide trailer. This enabled the craning of the unit onto the offshore rig, which was then lifted approximately 50-feet above the water to be positioned at the final destination – approximately 8.5-feet above the pier deck on top of four storage containers. This unusual method not only maximized the use of space, but created a positive end result.
“Building on our existing client relationship with Weeks Marine, we were able to put our heads together and devise a unique plan to suit their needs,” said Cyndee Hatton, sales consultant for Acton Mobile Industries.
According to Mark Reddekopp, project engineer for Weeks Marine, Acton Mobile was chosen for their competitive pricing, fast reaction time and excellent customer service.
“Acton Mobile was able to meet all of our needs in a creative and timely manner,” said Reddekopp, “Their quick thinking presented an immediate response to our challenge.” |
